Onassis AiR invites artists, curators, designers, dance and theater makers, chefs, activists, writers, educators, performers, architects, creative coders, filmmakers, and other practitioners from any discipline, from anywhere in the world, to apply for their selected program strand that will take place in Athens, Greece between September 2024 to July 2025. Onassis AiR offers opportunities in three different strands: Extended Research Residencies, Dramaturgy Fellowships, and AiR/ONX Fellowships.

These programs are aimed at artists who wish to delve deeper into their practice without the pressure of presenting a final work. The organization fosters artistic experimentation, non-linear storytelling, and peer-to-peer interconnection.

Extended Research Residencies are individual artistic residencies lasting up to three months, designed for creative practitioners who need space, focused time, and stimulating conversations to kick off, develop, or finalize a project.

The Dramaturgy Fellowships, for the first time, invite artists for a three-month fellowship for research and development of new performance-based works.

The AiR/ONX Fellowships are part of the global New Media program that aims to explore different aspects of the post-digital world, inviting creators to apply with proposals that use various media and technologies.

Selected participants will receive an artist’s fee, a research budget, housing, travel to/from Athens, a collective budget for group site visits and research trips, and access to mentoring and audiovisual equipment. They get opportunities to engage with the Athens art scene through networking events and are invited to participate in Open Days, a public series of events, to share their artistic research or work-in-progress.

The total number of Residencies & Fellowships awarded will be thirty, and the working language of the program is English. The selection process varies depending on the selected strand. To apply, applicants must create a personal account in the Onassis Directory and submit their applications by March 4th, 2024. All applicants will be informed of their application result by June 14th, 2024.
