The Deep Fried Podcast is hosted by the team behind Dubai's original food and culture tourism venture, Frying Pan Adventures. It’s the very first food podcast from Dubai and is dedicated to a focus on “flavors, stories, and techniques from the East.” The show features a wide variety of topics celebrating the diversity of culinary cultures in West Asia.
The third season of the podcast began this month, with new episodes released on Monday every two weeks. The theme of the new season’s episodes will be based around a different tangent: rather than focusing on food of the region in a broad sense, it will narrow in on artisans and homegrown businesses in the UAE (with some exceptions). The lineup includes a family run Filipino bakery, a woman who procures traditional Indian cast iron and soapstone cookware, the Korean CEO of an Asian specialty retail shop, an artisanal maker of vegan cheeses, and many other profiles.
